Fresh from securing her maiden BWF World Tour title, teenage badminton sensation Tanvi Sharma will spearhead India’s challenge alongside former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth at the Korea Masters 2026, beginning in Asan on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old enters the BWF Super 300 tournament in excellent form after winning the Taipei Open title on Sunday. Tanvi defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Thuy Linh in the final to become the fourth Indian woman to win a BWF Super 300 or higher-level title, joining the elite list of Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu and Devika Sihag.
With two-time Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu taking a break and Unnati Hooda not participating in the event, third-seeded Tanvi will be the highest-ranked Indian player in the women’s singles draw.
India’s women’s singles contingent also includes Anmol Kharb, Malvika Bansod, Ashmita Chaliha, Aakarshi Kashyap, Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj, Isharani Baruah, Shriyanshi Valishetty, Tanya Hemanth and Mansi Singh.
In men’s singles, third seed Kidambi Srikanth will return to competitive action for the first time since his opening-round exit at the Canada Open in July. Earlier this season at the US Open, the former world No. 1 produced impressive performances by defeating Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia, a Paris Olympics bronze medallist, and Japan’s Yudai Okimoto before finishing runner-up after losing to Chinese Taipei’s Su Li Yang in the final.
Other Indian men’s singles players in the main draw include Kiran George, Tharun Mannepalli, Mithun Manjunath, Rounak Chouhan and Saneeth Dayanand. S. Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian and Tushar Suveer will begin their campaigns from the qualifying rounds.
India will miss the services of top men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, with Satwik continuing recovery from a shoulder injury sustained during the Indonesia Open in June.
World No. 77 pair Bhargav Ram Arigela and Viswa Tej Gobburu will lead India’s men’s doubles challenge, while Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra will spearhead the women’s doubles campaign.
India will also field three mixed doubles pairs — Ishaan Bhatnagar and Shruti Mishra, Dhruv Rawat and Maneesha K, and Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma.
The BWF Super 300 tournament will be held from August 4 to 9. Fans in India can watch live streaming on the BWF TV YouTube channel, while the event will not have a live television broadcast in the country.
