The Haryana Government on Wednesday approved a proposal to establish a state-of-the-art industrial park at Industrial Model Township (IMT) Ambala under the Central Government’s flagship Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), a move aimed at boosting industrial growth and attracting fresh investments to the state.
The proposal was cleared by the State-Level Committee (SLC) at a meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. Following the approval, the project will now be forwarded to the Government of India for final clearance.
The proposed industrial park will be developed over 108.58 acres within the upcoming IMT Ambala by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). The project involves an estimated investment of ₹304.10 crore and is intended to create a ready-to-move, plug-and-play industrial ecosystem for manufacturing enterprises.
Officials said the project has been designed to meet all eligibility requirements under the BHAVYA scheme, including the availability of contiguous encumbrance-free land, robust multimodal connectivity and readiness for swift implementation.
Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Amit Kumar Agrawal informed the committee that the proposed park would feature 256 industrial plots, 15 ready-built factory sheds, warehousing facilities, common facility centres, worker housing, a skill development centre, power infrastructure, water treatment facilities, a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), an internal road network, utility services and extensive green spaces.
The committee also reviewed the implementation model, under which the project will be executed through NICDC Haryana Multimodal Logistic Hub Project Ltd, a special purpose vehicle jointly promoted by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and HSIIDC, in accordance with the BHAVYA guidelines.
Chief Secretary Rastogi emphasised the need for close coordination among departments to ensure the proposal is processed expeditiously by the Centre.
According to officials, the industrial park is expected to spur manufacturing, strengthen logistics infrastructure, attract large-scale investments and generate substantial employment opportunities in northern Haryana.
