Actor Deepakk Dutta has recalled an emotional experience from the sets of Daadi Ki Shaadi, revealing how veteran actress Neetu Kapoor showed leadership and concern for her entire team during the tense period surrounding Operation Sindoor.
Dutta, who worked alongside Neetu Kapoor in the comedy-drama, said the cast and crew were shooting in Shimla when security concerns escalated following border tensions and reports of drone attacks in Punjab. The situation led to anxiety among team members, with families in Mumbai becoming increasingly worried.
According to Dutta, the crew began discussing emergency evacuation plans, including travelling by road to Delhi as Chandigarh airport had been shut and flights from Delhi remained operational.
He recalled that during the difficult period, Ranbir Kapoor contacted his mother and offered to arrange a private jet to ensure her safe evacuation. However, Neetu Kapoor declined the offer, choosing instead to remain with the entire team until everyone could leave together.
Dutta quoted Neetu Kapoor as saying that if the team had to leave, everyone should be evacuated safely and that she would not leave alone while others remained behind.
The actor said Neetu Kapoor believed the team was safe in the hills and encouraged everyone to continue working despite the uncertainty.
Dutta praised her decision as an example of her character beyond her achievements as an actor, describing her response during the crisis as a display of responsibility and leadership.
Daadi Ki Shaadi, directed by Ashish R Mohan, features Neetu Kapoor along with Kapil Sharma, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Sadia Khateeb and R. Sarathkumar in key roles.
