Actor Ram Charan shared an emotional birthday message for his father and Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi on Saturday, describing him as his “first hero”, biggest inspiration and a constant source of strength.
The RRR actor took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to wish Chiranjeevi on his birthday and reflected on the bond they share.
“Happy Birthday Nanna @KChiruTweets. You have been my first hero, my biggest inspiration and someone I can always turn to. Through every high and low, your love, guidance and belief in me have been my greatest strength. I feel truly blessed to have you in my life,” Ram Charan wrote.
He also wished his father good health and happiness, adding, “Love you more than words can say, Nanna (sic).”
Chiranjeevi’s younger brother Pawan Kalyan, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, also marked the occasion by recalling memories from their childhood and the early years of Chiranjeevi’s film career.
Pawan Kalyan said his elder brother had been a hero to him even before he became a film star. Recalling his school days, he said that simply walking beside Chiranjeevi made him feel as though he was with “the world’s most important person”.
He fondly remembered Chiranjeevi riding their father’s Bullet motorcycle with long curly hair, an NCC cadet’s physique, bell-bottom trousers and glasses, describing the memory as a moment of “fanboy and hero-worshipping”.
“My Annaya was always a Hero for me even before he became a Hero,” Pawan Kalyan wrote.
He also recalled an early-career trip by Chiranjeevi to Singapore, from which his elder brother returned with a large blue bag filled with gifts, including a Lego helicopter, remote-controlled cars, a racing track, comics, music tapes, a tape recorder, Yardley products and perfumes.
Pawan Kalyan said Chiranjeevi’s thoughtful gifts brought “joy and smiles” to their family home, adding another personal memory to the birthday tributes for the veteran actor.
