Internet personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has recalled a piece of advice from actress Janhvi Kapoor that he says stayed with him during the early phase of his public journey.
Sharing the memory in a social media post addressed to filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Orry said that a couple of years ago, he was excited to see a brief mention of himself in a newspaper. He called Janhvi, a close friend, to ask whether he should share the clipping on social media.
According to Orry, Janhvi laughed and told him that one day he would make the front page on his own merit and that she would want him to share that achievement.
Orry said the remark initially left him a little disappointed because he doubted whether such a day would ever arrive. He accompanied his post with a series of newspaper cuttings featuring mentions of him.
Recalling the subsequent turn in his public profile, Orry said that last year he frequently appeared on newspaper front and back pages because of what he described as “infamous baseless articles.” He said he felt he had become the “face of fake news” rather than being recognised for his achievements.
However, he said this year marked a significant change, with his name appearing on the front page for reasons he considers a matter of pride. Referring to his “KKK journey” and the attention his accomplishments have received, Orry said he was grateful to have been recognised for more than his privileged background and public image.
He also expressed gratitude to Janhvi for believing in his potential when he was still uncertain about his own trajectory.
Orry and Janhvi share a close, family-like friendship that dates back nearly a decade. The two reportedly met around seven to eight years ago in New York through a mutual friend. Orry has previously spoken about being a fan of Janhvi even before they met.
The two are frequently seen together at social gatherings, parties and vacations and have often shared glimpses of their outings on social media.
