Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag is set to make his streaming debut as the host of Rise and Fall Season 2, bringing his trademark wit and competitive spirit to the reality show.
Speaking about his new role, Sehwag drew parallels between cricket and the unpredictable nature of the show, saying that just as a match can change with the final delivery, there are no guaranteed victories in the game of Rise and Fall.
“Cricket has taught me one thing—no match is won before the final ball, and Rise and Fall Season 2 takes that unpredictability to another level. As a host, what excites me about this game is that there are no easy wins and no fixed positions,” Sehwag said.
He added that reaching the top is only part of the challenge, with contestants also having to protect their position through strategy and timely decisions.
“The biggest challenge isn’t just getting to the top but knowing how to stay there. You have to know when to attack, when to defend, and, most importantly, when to read the game before it reads you,” he said.
With money, strategy and constantly changing equations shaping the competition, Sehwag said there would be little room for complacency. He added that he was looking forward to watching contestants take risks, form alliances and navigate the shifting dynamics of the game.
Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of AVOD Content, Prime Video India, said the response to the first season had encouraged the makers to take the format forward with a new set of contestants.
“Season 2 brings a fresh set of personalities into a format where power is always in motion, and every decision carries a consequence,” Dusad said.
He added that Sehwag’s “wit, spontaneity, and fearless personality” make him a strong fit for the format and said audiences can expect drama, strategy and entertainment in the new season.
The makers unveiled the first glimpse of Rise and Fall Season 2 on Friday, introducing Sehwag as the host. The promo showcases his playful take on life’s constant ups and downs before offering a glimpse into the high-stakes reality game.
