Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Thursday launched the upgraded website of the Delhi Traffic Police, offering citizens a simpler, more interactive, informative, accessible and secure platform for traffic-related information and online services.
According to an official statement, the revamped website reflects the Delhi Traffic Police’s efforts to use technology not merely for disseminating information but also to make routine interactions with traffic services more convenient for citizens.
Speaking at the launch, Sandhu said the platform should go beyond functioning as an administrative interface and evolve into an interactive hub for road safety awareness, civic education and proactive citizen participation. He also stressed the need to use technology to make public services more accessible, efficient and responsive.
Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, Special Commissioner (Traffic) Ajay Chowdhary and other senior officials were present.
Designed around the everyday needs of commuters, the mobile-friendly website can be accessed through smartphones, tablets and other devices. Citizens can check challans issued against their vehicles by entering the vehicle registration number and can also pay the applicable amount through a QR code.
The website also helps vehicle owners whose vehicles have been towed by providing relevant information and details of the concerned towing location, reducing the need for repeated enquiries.
The upgraded platform includes enhanced cybersecurity measures and has been designed to accommodate new citizen-focused services as they are introduced by the Delhi Traffic Police.
Other features allow users to identify the best routes and check road congestion. An interactive section also explains various road signs and road markings, helping commuters understand and comply with traffic regulations.
