Singer Shania Twain is revisiting some of the most emotional chapters of her life in a new audiobook edition of her memoir From This Moment On, which she has narrated herself.
Twain said she spent part of her summer in the recording studio working on the audiobook as well as new music. Reflecting on the experience, the Queen of Country Pop described her life story as a “real rollercoaster of emotions”.
“This is my story in my words… revisiting these memories took me on a real rollercoaster of emotions,” Twain wrote in an Instagram post, sharing glimpses from the studio. She added that her life story was “pretty wild” and said she hoped listeners unfamiliar with it would enjoy the audiobook.
The audiobook, originally based on her 2011 memoir, gives listeners Twain’s account of her difficult childhood, rise to global fame and the personal experiences that shaped her life. The new edition includes a foreword and is narrated by Twain herself.
Twain has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and is recognised as one of the best-selling artists in music history and the top-selling female country-pop artist. She is a five-time Grammy winner and has also been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The audiobook arrives alongside another deeply personal project. Twain is set to release Little Miss Twain – The Places I’ll Go on October 9, an expanded edition built around stories from her youth and the period before she signed her recording contract in Nashville.
The 20-track project features collaborations with Tanya Tucker, Josh Homme and The War and Treaty, and continues Twain’s recent exploration of her early life and musical journey.
