Sanaur, October 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab affairs in-charge Manish Sisodia on Tuesday urged party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots and work intensively in the coming months, saying booth in-charges are the party’s real face at the local level.

Sisodia was addressing a meeting of block presidents and booth in-charges in Sanaur as part of the party’s organisational activities ahead of the upcoming elections. He praised the large gathering and the reported 100 per cent attendance of booth in-charges, particularly appreciating the efforts of Hadana in mobilising the organisation.

Sisodia said the next two to three months should be devoted to intensive grassroots work to seek another term for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Recalling the party’s campaign ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, he said volunteers had worked extensively to strengthen the organisation and bring more people into the party.

He said that while senior leaders represented the party at the broader level, booth in-charges were its real face in wards and at the grassroots because people interacted with the organisation through them. He stressed that booth-level workers needed to remain active and prepared.

The meeting also reviewed preparations across 270 booths, with discussions on the results and voting figures of previous elections and areas where the party had won or lost.

Sisodia claimed that the government’s work in education, healthcare and road safety had been achieved with the cooperation and efforts of the people rather than by the government alone.

Speaking about education, he said the AAP government aimed to strengthen Punjab’s government schools and education infrastructure to such an extent that people from outside the country would also consider Punjab for their children’s education.

On healthcare, Sisodia said more than 90,000 people were undergoing check-ups by MBBS doctors daily and claimed that health cards had helped reduce concerns over treatment expenses among ordinary citizens.

Participants at the meeting thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for measures including the Road Safety Force and legislation aimed at preventing sacrilege. Party workers said they supported the organisation over what they described as the government’s transparent policies.

At the conclusion, Hadana, along with block presidents and booth in-charges, pledged to face upcoming challenges and take the government’s policies to people at the grassroots.

State secretary Punjab Jagdeep Singh Jagga, Lok Sabha in-charge Baljinder Dhillon, chairman Happy Pahadipur, district in-charge Navaldeep Singh and all block presidents and booth in-charges from the Sanaur constituency were also present.
