Actress Himmanshi Khurrana shared a cryptic social media post on Tuesday amid an escalating public controversy involving her former boyfriend Asim Riaz, days after she claimed to have evidence related to an alleged conversion-related matter and violence she says she suffered.
Himmanshi took to Instagram and shared a series of photographs of herself, among which was an image of a wall carrying the message, “Sorry I don’t speak low maintenance.” She captioned the post with a white heart emoji.
The post came after Asim reacted to remarks Himmanshi made during a podcast with Paras Chhabra, where she discussed religious differences in her past relationship. Asim denied ever asking anyone to change their religion and criticised the use of religion in the controversy.
Himmanshi subsequently responded, clarifying that she had never described the situation as “forceful conversion” and said that narrative had been created by people and the media.
She also claimed that she had evidence, including CCTV footage and recordings, concerning what she described as a “conversion-related matter” and alleged violence. Referring to an early morning incident on November 27, 2023, she said she was prepared to share the material if the issue continued to be framed as a question of proof.
Himmanshi said she had generally maintained dignity while discussing her personal journey, including her Bigg Boss experience, spiritual journey and health struggles. She added that she would no longer remain silent if her health and personal struggles were mocked or questioned.
“If you want to play the ‘proof’ game, then let’s play it honestly — with facts, accountability, and the complete truth,” she said in her earlier statement.
She also questioned why she should face criticism for sharing her experiences when other public figures openly discuss their personal journeys.
Asim’s earlier denial and Himmanshi’s subsequent claims have brought renewed attention to their past relationship. The latest cryptic Instagram post does not directly name Asim or explain its intended reference.
