Television actor Shivangi Joshi has denied reports that she will participate in ‘Bigg Boss 20’, calling a viral social media video claiming to confirm her entry “completely fake”.
Joshi addressed the speculation through her Instagram Stories after a video circulated online purportedly identifying her as a contestant on the upcoming season of the reality show.
The ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actor clarified that she has no association with ‘Bigg Boss 20’ and that the viral video does not represent an official confirmation of her participation.
The clarification comes amid growing speculation over the contestant lineup for the new season, with Joshi’s name having featured prominently in social media discussions. Some fan posts had even described her as the first confirmed contestant.
‘Bigg Boss 20’ is scheduled to premiere on September 6, with Salman Khan returning as host. The makers, however, have yet to officially announce the complete contestant lineup.
Several celebrity names continue to circulate ahead of the premiere. Rajat Bedi is reportedly confirmed, while Geeta Basra and Showik Chakraborty are said to have been finalised. Niti Taylor and Anjali Arora have also reportedly been in advanced discussions for the show.
Joshi was recently seen in ‘Lock Upp Season 2’, where she emerged as the first runner-up. Shreya Kalra won the season, taking home the trophy at the grand finale on August 5, 2026.
