NTA Begins Major Recruitment Drive, To Hire Senior Experts and Young Professionals

New Delhi, July 24, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated a major institutional overhaul by launching recruitment for senior professionals and young talent as part of reforms recommended by the High-Level Committee chaired by Professor K. Radhakrishnan.

The autonomous body under the Ministry of Education has invited applications for four General Manager positions on a three-year contract to strengthen key areas including academic assessment, examination operations, cyber security and vigilance.

The General Manager for Assessment Research and Development will oversee academic assessment, psychometrics, item banks, normalisation and computer-adaptive testing initiatives. The General Manager for Test Centre Network and Operations will manage NTA’s examination centres across more than 500 cities in India and select international locations.

The agency has also created the post of General Manager (Information Security), who will serve as the Chief Information Security Officer and oversee data protection, cybersecurity and compliance with relevant laws. Another General Manager will head vigilance, investigations and digital forensics, coordinating with agencies including the CBI, Enforcement Directorate, Intelligence Bureau and state police to tackle examination-related malpractices.

In a parallel initiative, the NTA will engage 16 young professionals through the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Pratibha Setu portal for the first time. Of these, 12 positions are earmarked for academic research, two for legal research and two for finance and accounts. The appointments will initially be for 24 months, extendable to 36 months based on performance.

The recruitment drive, along with the empanelment of subject matter experts and translators, forms part of a broader reform programme aimed at strengthening the NTA’s academic, operational, technological and integrity frameworks. The agency said additional recruitment initiatives are expected in the coming weeks.
