Actress Mona Singh has offered a glimpse into her upcoming project in the United Kingdom, sharing behind-the-scenes photographs from Cotswolds and expressing excitement about exploring a new creative experience.
The Made in Heaven and Laal Singh Chaddha actress took to Instagram to post a series of pictures from the shoot, accompanied by a note describing the project as a special and unprecedented experience.
“This project/movie feels special and unprecedented because we have thrown out the old rule book,” Mona wrote, hinting at an unconventional approach to filmmaking.
The project is reportedly directed by Vikas Bahl, best known for his film Queen. It features an ensemble cast that includes Jimmy Shergill, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mona Singh and Alizeh Agnihotri, along with international actors and musicians.
Set in Britain in the early 1990s, the film reportedly explores the rise of the UK Punjabi music movement. It traces a period of cultural change when a generation growing up between different identities began shaping a music scene through garages, backrooms, pirate radio stations and underground gigs.
Mona, who was most recently seen in the second season of Kohrra, has previously spoken about the role of personal choices in shaping her career. She believes that while the industry provides scripts and platforms, an actor’s decisions determine the direction of their journey.
The actress has also credited her willingness to turn down projects with bringing a significant change to her career, saying that she began declining nearly 90 per cent of the shows offered to her.
Mona rose to prominence with the popular television soap opera Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, which premiered in 2003. She later appeared in the first season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and the television series Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, before establishing herself in films and streaming projects.
