Akali Dal Waris Punjab De inaugurated its Puadh regional office in Mohali on Saturday as part of its efforts to expand its organisational presence, strengthen its political agenda and take its policies and programmes directly to the people of Punjab.
The inauguration ceremony began with the Bhog of Sri Sukhmani Sahib Ji prayers, followed by the dedication of the office to the public after seeking blessings from Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The event witnessed the participation of senior party leaders, office-bearers and supporters from across the Puadh region, who raised religious slogans on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the organisation’s Working President, Bapu Tarsem Singh, congratulated the leadership and party workers on the opening of the new office, saying that the organisation’s expansion had increased their responsibilities.
He said the Sikh community and the people of Punjab were looking towards the regional party with renewed expectations. Referring to the participation of young people in the organisation, he claimed that a large section of Punjab’s youth was aligning with Waris Punjab De.
Tarsem Singh also referred to the turnout at two recent major party conferences, saying it reflected growing support among pro-Punjab forces and Panthic supporters. He expressed confidence in the organisation’s political prospects.
Senior leader Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali said the response the party was receiving across Punjab indicated that people wanted a political alternative rooted in the state’s interests. He alleged that Punjab’s electorate had rejected parties controlled from Delhi and called for an accountable government capable of addressing the state’s concerns.
Faridkot MP Sardar Sarabjit Singh Khalsa said Panthic political forces were coming together and that prominent personalities associated with the Panth were joining Akali Dal Waris Punjab De. He stressed the need for a government committed to representing Punjab and the Panth and safeguarding their interests.
Khalsa also appealed to Punjab-loving and Panthic personalities to join the organisation, emphasising the importance of political unity in addressing the state’s concerns.
Senior party leader and Parliamentary Board Convenor Kabil Singh thanked the Sangat for attending the inauguration. Mohali District President Jagdeep Singh Kansala assured the gathering that the new office would function efficiently and serve as a centre for organisational activities. He said party leaders and workers would work to take the organisation’s policies and programmes to every household.
Several senior leaders and office-bearers attended the event, including Kabil Singh, Convenor of the Parliamentary Board; Babu Singh Brar, Sukhwinder Singh Agwan and Pargat Singh Sandhu, members of the Parliamentary Board; Amarjit Singh Wanchiri, Member of Panch Pardhani; Harpreet Kaur, President of the Women’s Wing; Jagdeep Singh Kansala, Mohali District President; Daler Singh Doad, PAC Member; and Sandeep Singh Rupalon, spokesperson.
