New Delhi, October 3, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

India has rejected Pakistan’s “baseless and motivated allegations” over an infiltration incident in Punjab’s Ferozepur sector along the International Border, lodging a strong protest with the Pakistani government over what it described as continued facilitation of illegal cross-border movement.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it summoned Pakistan High Commission Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich on Saturday to convey India’s protest and categorically reject Islamabad’s claims concerning the October 2 incident.

According to the MEA, three individuals had crossed into Indian territory and continued moving towards the border fence despite repeated warnings by the Border Security Force (BSF) to return to Pakistan. The BSF was compelled to engage them after they allegedly posed an imminent security threat, the Ministry said.

The MEA described the incident as part of a pattern of repeated cross-border movement by armed narcotics syndicates allegedly operating from Pakistan. It urged the Pakistani government to investigate infiltration and drug-smuggling activities, including the alleged complicity of Pakistan’s border guarding forces, and take corrective measures.

India also called on Pakistan to respect the sanctity of the International Border, adhere to relevant bilateral arrangements, ensure effective control by its forces to prevent unauthorised crossings and take steps to prevent similar incidents.

The statement comes amid broader tensions between the two countries. Earlier, India accused Pakistan’s military-backed leadership of using terrorism to divert attention from domestic discontent.

Speaking at the United Nations, Bhavika Mangalanandan, First Secretary at India’s UN Mission, alleged that Pakistan was sponsoring and financing cross-border terrorism in India for more than three decades. She also used the term “Form 47” to criticise Pakistan’s 2024 electoral process and the role of its military establishment.
