A prompt response by Delhi Police, supported by PCR and Fire Brigade teams, helped rescue two women in distress during a coordinated operation in Jaitpur Extension Part-II, Khadda Colony, in Southeast Delhi.
The incident occurred on October 2, when police received a PCR call reporting that a woman had allegedly locked herself inside a room. A team led by the Station House Officer of Kalindi Kunj police station immediately reached the location.
On arrival, police found a woman, around 25 years old, who had allegedly jumped from a first-floor balcony onto the street and sustained injuries. She was provided immediate assistance and taken to Feliz Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a Fire Brigade team led by Station Officer Rakesh Singh, accompanied by four personnel, arrived at the house to assist in the rescue. Another woman, around 24, had locked herself inside a room. Fire Brigade personnel helped open the door, after which she was found to have allegedly jumped into a shaft inside the house.
Police and Fire Brigade personnel jointly carried out a rescue operation and safely brought the woman out of the shaft.
During a preliminary inquiry, police found that the women were related as sister-in-law and daughter-in-law. Both were reportedly at the house when an altercation broke out over a video allegedly recorded by one of them and sent to another person.
Both women were shifted to hospital for medical care. One was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre in PCR Van Kite-22, while the other, initially admitted to Feliz Hospital, was subsequently transferred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by a PCR vehicle for further treatment.
Police said the coordinated efforts of the local police, PCR and Fire Brigade teams ensured that both women were rescued and received timely medical attention.
