Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government continues to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve rural amenities across the state. Taking a step forward in this direction, MLA Dera Bassi S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa today inaugurated a new Water Supply Scheme worth Rs 86.81 lakh at village Jawaharpur, constructed by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department.
The newly commissioned scheme comprises a 10-inch borewell of 320 meters depth, a 1 lakh litre capacity overhead tank, pump chamber-cum-staff quarters, and a CSC complex. With the operationalization of this project, the residents of Jawaharpur will now have access to regular and clean drinking water.
Addressing the gathering, S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to ensuring the provision of essential civic amenities in every village. He said, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is dedicated to improving the quality of life in rural areas through sustainable development projects in sectors like water supply, sanitation, education, and infrastructure.”
He further added that several similar water supply and sanitation projects are being executed in the Dera Bassi constituency to provide safe drinking water to every household and promote public health.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Gurpreet Singh, along with Panchayat members, local residents, and officials from various departments, were present and expressed gratitude towards the government for this much-needed facility.
