Gurugram biker Sia, who was injured after allegedly being hit by a car on Golf Course Road last week, has questioned the law-and-order situation in the city and urged authorities to take action against motorists accused of rash driving.
Sia asked whether authorities would act only after a biker was seriously injured or killed, while pointing to restrictions imposed on two-wheeler riders in Gurugram.
“Until a biker gets hit and dies, will law and order not wake up?” she asked, questioning what action was being taken against motorists who drive recklessly.
Recalling the incident, Sia said the car initially sped past her at high speed before stopping ahead and allegedly confronting her. She said the driver then approached from behind, hit her and fled the spot.
She said she noticed two people in the front of the vehicle and believed there were two more passengers in the rear. However, she could not clearly identify them because the car had heavily tinted windows and she was riding at the time.
Sia said protective riding gear helped prevent potentially more serious injuries. She credited her riding shoes and gloves with reducing the impact when her hand hit the ground during the fall, saying she could otherwise have suffered fractures to her shoulder or legs.
The incident has drawn attention since Monday, with Sia questioning why the alleged driver remains at large.
“He hit a human being and left them on the road to die,” she said, adding that the person was still appearing in media reports and presenting his version of events.
Sia questioned why the police had not arrested him and urged authorities to take stronger action against motorists accused of dangerous driving.
