Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Chief Executive Officer Vishwabhushan Mishra has been transferred and appointed Deputy Secretary at the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC).
Mishra had assumed charge as CEO of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust in January 2024 and served in the position for more than two years.
During his tenure, the temple administration introduced several measures to manage the steadily increasing number of devotees and streamline the darshan process. The initiatives included the use of technology and improved management systems to facilitate smoother movement of pilgrims and enhance the overall visitor experience.
Strengthening security arrangements and improving facilities for devotees were also key areas of focus during his tenure. The administration faced the continuing challenge of managing heavy footfall while ensuring adequate security and essential facilities for pilgrims.
Mishra’s transfer marks a shift from his administrative responsibility at one of Varanasi’s prominent religious institutions to a new role with the state’s recruitment and selection body.
The development has drawn attention in administrative circles and within the temple premises in Varanasi. Focus is now expected to turn to the appointment of Mishra’s successor and the continuation of the measures introduced during his tenure.
The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple remains a major religious destination, attracting devotees from across India and abroad. Managing the growing footfall, maintaining security and ensuring smooth darshan continue to be key priorities for the temple administration.
