Newly appointed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Madan Mohan Pandey has said ensuring maximum convenience and facilities for devotees visiting the Ram Temple will be his foremost priority.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve Lord Ram and Ayodhya, Pandey said the Trust would work towards the further development and improvement of the temple.
“Our priority will be to look after the convenience of devotees who come to offer prayers at the temple,” Pandey told IANS a day after his appointment.
“After being inducted into the Trust, we will work towards the upliftment of the Ram Temple, as much as possible,” he added.
The Ram Temple Trust on Wednesday appointed Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO). It also elevated Swami Govind Dev Giri as General Secretary and appointed Mahesh Bhagchandka, Madan Mohan Pandey and Nirmala Yadav as trustees, filling three vacant positions.
Pandey, an advocate by profession, said he had been associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement from its early stages. He recalled that the vakalatnama in the case was filed in 1994 on behalf of Mahant Paramhans Ramchandra Das.
“I have been associated with this struggle from the very beginning, but the actual ‘vakalatnama’ was filed in 1994, on behalf of Mahant Paramhans Ramchandra Das. Later, I kept appearing in the High Court and Supreme Court on behalf of the legal team for Ram Lalla Virajman,” he said.
“Finally the Supreme Court delivered the verdict in our favour,” Pandey added.
Meanwhile, newly appointed CEO Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra reached Ayodhya on Thursday and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve Lord Ram and contribute to the temple’s administration.
Mishra said he would first formally take charge before outlining his detailed plans.
“I have reached Ayodhya for the first time after being given this responsibility. Give me some time to take over. I will share the complete plan with you,” he said.
The former Indian Air Force officer, who served during Operation Sindoor, said he considered the new responsibility a matter of great honour.
“My heart is filled with gratitude. I consider myself the most fortunate person today to have been given this responsibility twice in my life, once to serve the nation and now to serve Lord Ram, the temple and its devotees through its organisation and administration,” Mishra said.
