The Punjab Government has transferred SAS Nagar SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans and posted him as Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala.
Hans is a 2015-batch direct-recruit IPS officer.
He will replace IPS officer Varun Sharma as SSP Patiala. Sharma has been transferred in the opposite direction and posted as SSP SAS Nagar.
The latest order, therefore, swaps the district assignments of the two officers, with Hans moving to Patiala and Sharma taking charge in SAS Nagar.
The transfers are among eight IPS-level changes ordered by the state government.
Hans and the other officers affected by the reshuffle have been directed to assume their new assignments immediately.
