Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who is also Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to address employees’ issues, on Thursday held meetings with representatives of various employee unions and directed concerned departments to expedite action on their legitimate demands.
Cheema heard the concerns and demands of the employee representatives and instructed the departments concerned to prepare and submit proposals for resolving genuine issues before the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
He further directed that proposals involving financial implications be forwarded to the Finance Department on priority so that necessary action could be taken without delay.
Assuring the union representatives that their legitimate concerns would be addressed promptly, Cheema said employee welfare remained a key priority of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the PWD Field and Workshop Worker Union, Jal Supply Ate Sanitation Worker Union (Regd. No. 26), Gram Panchayat Jal Supply Pump Operators Association, Veterinary Pharmacist Action Committee, Sanjha Divyang Morcha, Punjab Divyang Action Committee, Sanjha Front CHO Punjab, Community Health Officers Association and the 180 ETT TET Pass Adhiapak Association (Jai Singh Wala).
Representatives of the PWD Field and Workshop Worker Union included Makhan Singh Wahidpuri, Baljinder Singh, Phumman Singh Kathgarh and Balraj Singh. The Jal Supply Ate Sanitation Worker Union was represented by Darshveer Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh, while Beant Singh, Avtar Singh, Bohar Singh and Sahib Singh represented the Gram Panchayat Jal Supply Pump Operators Association.
Davinderpal Singh Lasoi, Jaswinder Singh and Manpreet Singh raised issues on behalf of the Veterinary Pharmacist Action Committee. Lal Singh Dhuri, Angrez Singh Mallke, Lakha Sanghar and Hazoor Das represented the Sanjha Divyang Morcha, while Lakhvir Singh, Balwinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Palwinder Singh represented the Punjab Divyang Action Committee.
The Sanjha Front CHO Punjab was represented by Sukhpreet Kaur, Manjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Navdeep Kaur, Balkaran Singh and Gursimran Singh. The Community Health Officers Association was represented by Dr Sunil Targotra, Dr Pareet Makhija, Dr Balvir Singh and Dr Diljit Kumar.
Kamal Thakur, Sohan Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Gurmukh Singh represented the 180 ETT TET Pass Adhiapak Association (Jai Singh Wala) and apprised the Finance Minister of their concerns.
