The makers of Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have urged audiences not to record scenes from the film in theatres or share story details and spoilers on social media ahead of its worldwide release on August 26.
KVN Productions, which is producing the Geetu Mohandas-directed film, issued a statement thanking audiences for the strong response to the film and appealing to moviegoers to preserve the theatrical experience for others.
In a note titled “A Note from Team Toxic”, the production house said the film represented years of work by its technicians, artists and crew and was created to be experienced on the big screen.
The makers also acknowledged the excitement surrounding the film and its advance bookings before making their request to fans.
They urged viewers not to record scenes during theatrical screenings, post them online or reveal story beats that could spoil the experience for others.
Advance bookings for Toxic opened on August 21, with Yash also sharing a message announcing the start of ticket sales. The film marks his return to the big screen after the success of the KGF franchise. Reports have indicated strong demand ahead of release, with additional shows being added in some cities.
Toxic features Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and is being released in multiple Indian languages.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is positioned as an ambitious pan-India project and marks Yash’s first major theatrical release since KGF: Chapter 2. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26.
