Actress Ishita Dixit has completed two years of playing Pari in the popular television show Anupamaa, calling the milestone a significant achievement in her career and reflecting on how the role has transformed both her professional journey and her approach to acting.
“Completing two years with a huge show like Anupamaa is a very, very big achievement and a big milestone for me,” Ishita said.
The actress credited the show and producer Rajan Shahi for giving her the opportunity, saying the role brought a major change to her life.
“I am extremely grateful and glad, and I will always be thankful to Rajan Shahi sir for giving me this opportunity because my life completely changed after Anupamaa happened, and that is the truth,” she said.
Ishita also reflected on Pari’s evolution since she first took on the character. She said playing the role over the past two years has allowed her to grow not only as Pari but also as an actor.
“I have also learnt a lot along the way, and I am genuinely happy with the growth that I have shown in these two years. I feel completely different today, not just as Pari but also in terms of my craft and as an actor,” she said.
Working alongside senior actors has also contributed to her learning, she added, saying she has gained insights by observing their performances, understanding their processes and sharing scenes with them.
Calling her experience “amazing”, Ishita said she hopes her association with Pari continues for a long time.
“I would want this journey to be a long one because I want to continue playing Pari for as long as possible,” she said.
The actress also revealed that the line between her real personality and her on-screen character has gradually blurred.
“By now, she has become a part of me. When you play a character for so many years, you sometimes forget what real or reel is,” Ishita said.
She added that while she once insisted that she and Pari were very different, two years of playing the character had made her recognise similarities between them.
“Somewhere, the difference between my real self and Pari has started disappearing because I have lived with her for so long,” she said.
