Veteran actor Anupam Kher on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence and said the two held an extensive discussion on a range of subjects, including the country, society, culture, cinema and life.
Sharing photographs from the meeting on social media, Kher posted images of himself presenting a shawl to the Home Minister and another showing the two engaged in conversation.
Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Kher said he was touched by Amit Shah’s hospitality and warmth.
“I had the honor of meeting Honorable Home Minister of India, Mr. Amit Shah, at his residence. I am deeply grateful to him for his affection, warm hospitality, and kindness. We had a long and very meaningful conversation on many topics, including the country, society, culture, cinema, and life,” the actor wrote.
Kher also praised the Home Minister’s knowledge and clarity of thought, saying his understanding of various subjects and remarkable memory were inspiring.
“His deep understanding of subjects, amazing memory, and clarity of thought are truly inspiring. Every meeting with such a personality gives an opportunity to think and learn something new,” he said.
The actor added that Amit Shah’s time, affection and the idol of Lord Hanuman placed where he was seated during the meeting would remain memorable for him.
On the professional front, Anupam Kher will next be seen in filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya.
The actor recently completed shooting for the film and reflected on his long association with Barjatya, recalling that the filmmaker had worked as an assistant during his debut film Saaransh. Kher said they have since collaborated on more than eight films and described Barjatya as one of the finest storytellers of the present time.
