Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Tuesday interacted with students of West Point School, Sandhwan, Faridkot, at the Punjab Assembly complex and encouraged them to understand the political system, set clear goals and work with dedication towards achieving success.
MLAs Manwinder Singh Giaspura and Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra were also present during the interactive session.
Addressing the students, Sandhwan said the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is an important institution where laws are framed for the welfare of the people and understanding the legislative process is essential for young citizens.
The students expressed enthusiasm after witnessing the proceedings of the House and learning about the functioning of the legislature.
During the question-and-answer session, the Speaker advised students to focus on understanding concepts rather than relying on rote learning. He encouraged them to develop clarity of thought and knowledge before expressing their views.
While interacting with students about their career aspirations, Sandhwan shared life lessons and urged them to set their goals at an early age. He advised them to work hard during their school years and focus on becoming responsible and good human beings rather than being driven only by material ambitions.
During the programme, the Speaker honoured two meritorious students of West Point School, Hargunreet Kaur and Ramanpreet Kaur, for their achievements.
Sandhwan also discussed contemporary issues with the students, including the introduction of E20 blended petrol. He expressed concerns over the impact of ethanol blending on vehicles and said consumers should not be forced to purchase a particular fuel option.
He encouraged students to actively participate in school activities, develop awareness about social issues and continue working hard to achieve their goals.
