Twitterati showed up in huge numbers to support ‘Punjab Police Sadda Maan’ making it a top national trend just a day after violent skirmish in Patiala.
According to a press release issued by the office of the DGP, the sentiment has augmented because of the civility shown Police while taking on some Nihangs who had chopped off ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) Harjeet Singh hand who had asked them to produce the curfew mobility pass.
Netizen shared videos, graphics and caricatures through ‘Punjab Police Sadda Maan’ to show their solidarity with the force.
Other than commoners prominent politicians including former union Minister Manish Tewari and Education Minister of Punjab Vijay Inder Singla expressed their support to the Police.
Others who tweeted in favour and commended Police included Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Punjabi actor-singers Gippy Grewal, Ranjeet Bawa and Lakhwinder Wadali.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police too acknowledged the sentiment and shared an emotional video justifying its motto: “Shubh Karman Te Kabhu Na Taron”. The video showed the police personnel on ground working round the clock to serve people of the state for more than 25 days of lockdown.
