Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his global stature and congratulated him on the occasion of the BRICS 2026 Summit, saying world leaders respect him.
Taking to Instagram, Ghai shared photographs of Modi meeting and interacting with delegates at the summit along with a message highlighting the importance of positivity, love and unity.
“Only he can do it Love begets love. Smiles create positive energies N our history has proved that only positivity can terminate negativity n grow humanity in this world. Why we shud not be proud of our prime minister sh Modi where every president n premiers respect him we love him Congratulations Brics 2026,” he wrote.
The filmmaker also captioned the photographs, “Only he can do it. Love begets love. Smiles create positive energies…”
Ghai has previously spoken about Modi’s support for his vision of establishing Whistling Woods International. Last month, the ‘Taal’ director recalled meeting Modi in 2009, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and presenting his idea for setting up a film and media institute in the state.
The Twitter handle ‘Modi Story’ had shared a video in which Ghai recalled that Modi had invited him for breakfast at his residence during his Gujarat visit.
According to Ghai, he explained to Modi that education without an artistic perspective could not lead to holistic human development and that cinema could play an important role in achieving that objective.
Ghai recalled that Modi appreciated the idea and asked him, “What do you need?”
The filmmaker said he requested land for the proposed institute, adding, “I asked for land to which teachers are also able to commute easily.”
Ghai had said he initially expected bureaucratic hurdles but was surprised by the enthusiasm with which Modi received the proposal and helped facilitate its execution.
