The much-awaited trailer of Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ was unveiled on Saturday, offering a glimpse into a dark and chaotic world marked by intense relationships, rivalries and explosive action.
The trailer combines striking visuals, elaborate action sequences and layered characters, while keeping much of the film’s storyline under wraps. At its centre is the complicated relationship between Raya and his son, Ticket, alongside a web of other relationships and conflicts.
The preview also offers glimpses of the characters played by Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi, hinting at their roles in the film’s intricate narrative.
The makers had earlier released the first look of ‘Toxic’ on Yash’s birthday in January. The video featured Yash in an intimate scene inside a car before showing him taking on a large group of men. However, a cemetery sequence in the video drew criticism, with complaints being filed by a Christian organisation and a state women’s commission. An FIR was also registered against the filmmakers, while several prominent members of the film industry extended their support.
The film has also undergone multiple changes to its release schedule. Initially slated for March, ‘Toxic’ was postponed to June, with the makers citing uncertainty in the Middle East. The release was delayed again in May without an immediate announcement of a new date.
On Father’s Day this year, the makers confirmed that the film would arrive in theatres on August 26.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, ‘Toxic’ has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. The film will also be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
The action entertainer is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
