Actress Nayanthara, who generally stays away from interviews, promotional events and pre-release functions, made an exception for the upcoming Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, attending its trailer launch in Mumbai on Saturday.
Nayanthara, who plays Ganga in the Geetu Mohandas directorial, joined Yash and the rest of the cast at the event. Speaking on the occasion, she explained that her absence from promotional activities is not because she dislikes them, but because she does not consider herself particularly comfortable with them.
“It’s not that I don’t want to attend promotional events. It’s just that I’m not very good at it. So I stay away from it. But this was special for so many reasons. But I think it’s just Yash. He just made a call, and it was enough for me to attend the event,” she said.
The actress also spoke about her experience of working with Yash and said his larger-than-life public persona is reflected in his personality as well.
“Everyone’s big, everyone’s cool. They are really good. That’s why they are superstars. But with Yash, when I met him the first time, the kind of larger-than-life image that he actually has, that’s how he really is in person also,” she added.
The recently released trailer of ‘Toxic’ offers glimpses of the complicated relationship between Raya and his son, Ticket, while introducing a world filled with rivalries and complex relationships.
The film also features Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in key roles.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed jointly by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, ‘Toxic’ has been shot simultaneously in English and Kannada. The film will be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
‘Toxic’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
