The makers of director Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming action entertainer ‘Slumdog 33 Temple Road’, starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, have unveiled a glimpse of Tabu’s character Gauri Hegde, raising anticipation among fans.
Puri Jagannadh shared the character glimpse on social media, introducing Tabu as “Gauri Hegde” and describing her as a fearless and powerful officer.
The video presents Tabu in an intense avatar, with her character seen confronting people and displaying a no-nonsense attitude. In one scene, she warns Vijay Sethupathi’s character: “In our style, we first shoot and then talk.”
The glimpse concludes by revealing Gauri Hegde’s designation as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, with a shot showing her wielding a lathi.
The film has generated considerable buzz since production began last year. Sources close to the project said filming has been completed and post-production work is progressing across all five languages.
A previously released title poster featured Vijay Sethupathi in a stylish look, holding a blood-stained machete while standing beside wooden crates filled with currency notes, hinting at the film’s action-driven narrative.
The project is being produced by Puri Jagannadh under the Puri Connects banner and presented by Charmme Kaur in association with JB Motion Pictures and JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla.
Samyuktha plays the female lead opposite Vijay Sethupathi, while Kannada actor Duniya Vijay and Tabu feature in pivotal roles. Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh are also part of the supporting cast.
According to sources, Samyuktha’s character will have an important role in the story, with significant scope for emotional and dramatic performance.
National Award-winning composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar, known for his work in films including ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Animal’, is composing the music.
‘Slumdog 33 Temple Road’ is planned as a pan-India release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
