India and Saudi Arabia have discussed measures to strengthen coordination and improve facilities for Indian pilgrims undertaking Haj-2027, including the technical integration of Haj portals and the use of emerging technologies.
Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, met Abdulaziz Al Mathami, Deputy Minister for Planning and Digital Transformation in Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah, along with the Nusuk Masar team, on Sunday.
The discussions focused on integrating Indian and Saudi Haj portals to streamline services, improve coordination and enhance the overall pilgrimage experience for Indian pilgrims.
The delegation, accompanied by Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, also met Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahim Wazzan, Deputy Minister for Haj and Umrah. The two sides discussed arrangements in Madinah, particularly accommodation, transportation, coordination and other essential facilities for pilgrims.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and ensuring a smooth, safe and comfortable Haj-2027 for Indian pilgrims.
Earlier, the delegation met Abdulfattah S. Mashat, Vice Minister for Haj and Umrah, to review preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage and discuss ways to enhance coordination between the two countries.
The talks followed a series of meetings by Krishna with Saudi officials. On Thursday, he met Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, in Riyadh to discuss Haj flights and transport facilities for Indian pilgrims.
On Wednesday, Krishna met Nouf Suliman Alnumair, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation, and discussed medical and healthcare arrangements for Indian pilgrims during Haj-2027.
The engagements underline India’s efforts to strengthen coordination with Saudi authorities well in advance of the 2027 Haj pilgrimage and ensure better services and facilities for Indian pilgrims.
