Kejriwal Calls Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation a ‘Big Win for Democracy’

New Delhi, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as a significant victory for democracy and the country’s youth.

In a post on X, Kejriwal congratulated the people of India, calling Pradhan’s resignation a “big win for democracy.”

In a video message, the AAP leader particularly congratulated Gen Z and students who had participated in protests over alleged examination paper leaks, saying their sustained efforts had yielded results.

Kejriwal said the development reaffirmed public faith in the democratic process. He noted that many citizens had begun to believe their voices were no longer being heard, but the resignation demonstrated that governments must remain accountable to the people.

Calling democracy a system “of the people, by the people and for the people,” he expressed hope that the Centre would now take stringent measures to prevent future examination paper leaks and restore confidence in the country’s examination system.

Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister earlier on Saturday amid nationwide protests over alleged examination irregularities.

In his resignation statement, Pradhan reiterated his commitment to students and educational reforms, saying he had always regarded a strong and inclusive education system as the foundation of nation-building. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve and said his decision was guided by the need to safeguard the integrity of examinations and the future of students.
