Punjab Govt Orders Major Police Reshuffle, Transfers and Posts 112 PPS Officers

The Punjab Government has ordered a major reshuffle in the state police, transferring and posting 112 Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers on administrative grounds with immediate effect.

The order, issued by the Department of Home Affairs with the approval of the competent authority, covers officers serving at the level of Commandant, DCP, ADCP, SP and other positions across commissionerates, districts and specialised wings of Punjab Police. Several officers who were available for posting following their placement in the officiating SP rank have also been assigned new responsibilities.

According to the order, the transfers and postings are as follows:

1. Suba Singh, PPS, Commandant, 5th IRB, Amritsar, has had his services placed at the disposal of the Prisons Department, Punjab, for posting as DIG.
2. Paramjit Singh, PPS, Commandant-cum-Deputy Director (Outdoor), MRS, PPA, Phillaur, has been posted as DCP Special Branch, Ludhiana.
3. Bhupinder Singh, PPS, AIG ANTF, Patiala Range, Patiala, has been posted as Commandant, 2nd CDO Battalion, Bahadurgarh, Patiala, against a vacant post.
4. Gurjot Singh, PPS, who was awaiting posting on reinstatement from suspension, has been posted as Commandant-cum-Deputy Director (Administration), MRS, PPA, Phillaur, against a vacant post.
5. Jugraj Singh Kaler, PPS, SP Headquarters, Gurdaspur, has been posted as DCP Operations, Amritsar, against a vacant post.
6. Prabhjot Singh, PPS, SP CID, Amritsar, has been posted as DCP Investigation, Amritsar, replacing Ravinderpal Singh.
7. Ravinderpal Singh, PPS, DCP Investigation, Amritsar, has been posted as DCP Law & Order, Amritsar, replacing Alam Vijay Singh.
8. Alam Vijay Singh, PPS, DCP Law & Order, Amritsar, has been posted as DCP City, Ludhiana, against a vacant post.
9. Gursewak Singh, PPS, AIG Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur, has been posted as DCP Rural, Ludhiana, replacing Jaskiranjit Singh.
10. Jaskiranjit Singh, PPS, DCP Rural, Ludhiana, has been posted as DCP City, Amritsar.

The government has directed all the officers concerned to join their new places of posting immediately. The order was issued in Chandigarh on August 16 by Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Home Affairs, Alok Shekhar, with the approval of the competent authority.
