Actress Aalisha Panwar has alleged that she was duped by organisers of an event in Rajasthan, claiming that her identity and popularity were used to promote the programme despite her not attending it.
In a social media post, Aalisha said she had been approached to appear as the chief guest at an event titled ‘Mr, Miss, Mrs and Kids Star of Rajasthan 2026’, scheduled for August 16 in Bharatpur.
According to the actress, the proposal initially appeared genuine. She was also asked to record a promotional video for the event and was paid around 5-10 per cent of the agreed amount for the video.
She later received information from the organisers that the event had been postponed and would be held on another date. However, Aalisha said she subsequently discovered that the programme had actually taken place on the originally announced date.
The actress alleged that the organisers had used her “face value” to promote the event and attract audiences and ticket buyers.
“So, basically, as an actor, my face value was used. I was used just to promote that event, to sell out their tickets. So, it’s a scam, a fraud,” she said in a video shared on social media.
Aalisha also expressed concern that other actors could potentially be targeted in a similar manner and said she was speaking publicly about the incident to caution people in the entertainment industry.
She apologised to fans and members of the audience who may have expected her to attend the Bharatpur event.
“I myself was a prey to this scam,” she said, urging fellow actors to remain cautious and avoid associating themselves with people or events without verifying their credentials.
The actress also said she hoped no other actor would have to go through a similar experience.
