Bengaluru Double Murder Twist: Woman Allegedly Killed Husband With Lover, Strangled Son Who Witnessed Crime

Bengaluru, August 18, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The double murder case reported in Bengaluru’s Chikkabanavara area has taken a shocking turn, with police arresting the deceased man’s wife, Harini, who allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and later strangled their son after he reportedly witnessed the crime.

The incident was reported on Sunday. According to police, Harini allegedly killed her husband, Abhinandan, with the assistance of Vinay, with whom she was allegedly in a relationship.

Their son, Yaduveer, reportedly witnessed the killing. Police suspect that Harini subsequently strangled the child to prevent him from revealing what he had seen.

Investigators believe Harini and Vinay then placed Abhinandan’s body over the child’s body in an attempt to make the deaths appear as though Abhinandan had killed the boy before either dying by suicide or being killed himself.

The alleged crime came to light after investigators noticed inconsistencies at the scene and followed bloodstains. Police said Harini had allegedly washed clothes bearing blood stains and left them out to dry, further raising suspicion.

According to police, Harini had switched off the CCTV cameras before the alleged murders. She reportedly called Vinay to her residence around 11 p.m. on the night before the incident. After the alleged killings, Vinay fled the scene and police subsequently launched a search for him.

During questioning, Harini was reportedly interrogated for nearly six hours before allegedly confessing to the murders of her husband and son.

DCP N. Nagesh said the couple had been experiencing marital problems and frequently quarrelled. Harini had reportedly left the house for some time before the couple resumed living together. The investigation subsequently uncovered her alleged relationship with Vinay.

A family member, Jayamma, reportedly told police that she had suspected Harini’s conduct for some time and had noticed that she frequently received calls.

Police also learnt that Harini had left the house around three months earlier after leaving behind a letter. The matter was reportedly kept private by the family in the hope that the couple would reconcile.

Investigators suspect that Yaduveer’s presence during the alleged killing of Abhinandan became a crucial factor in the subsequent murder of the child.

Police are also examining the alleged motive linked to Abhinandan’s property. He was the only son of his parents and reportedly owned assets worth crores of rupees, including a three-storey building in Chikkabanavara. Investigators suspect the accused allegedly believed they could gain control of the property after his death.

Harini was arrested on Monday, while police teams are continuing efforts to trace Vinay. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and determine the full motive behind the alleged murders.
