MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today inaugurated a 9 km long road worth 9 crores 2 lakhs 60 thousand rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Majitha constituency. This road is being built from Talwandi to Hamza Road to Majitha via Begewal.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that whenever he used to come to this area, there was always a demand for building this road, which he has fulfilled and started the work on this road today and this road will be completed in November.
He said that he has always been saying that the responsibility of the work done by the central government is his and he is always present for it and the state government should approach for the work that comes under the state government.
He said that the Mandi Board will monitor this road and he has strictly told the contractor that this road should be excellent and there should not be corruption of even a single rupee in it.
MP Aujla said that he himself will keep getting it checked from time to time because this is public money and should reach the public without any hassle.
He said that all the senior leaders of Congress are present with him and discussions were always held to build this road.
During this time, the people there demanded that almost all the roads of Majitha constituency are small, to which MP Aujla replied that when he gets a demand, he works on it. And many times, due to the constituency being large, demands do not come and information about pending work is not available.
That is why for this demand, he requests the MLA of the constituency to accept this demand and convey it to him and he will get it built under the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Gram Yojana.
He said that he also appeals to all the leaders to inform him about the pending work in their area and after that it is their responsibility to get that work completed from the central government and bring funds for it.
On this occasion former rural head Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachhar, Paramdeep Singh Pamma head Majitha, Jagdeep Singh Goga Majitha, Sarpanch Randeep Singh Mardi, Sarpanch Swarn Singh Kala Ramdiwali Hinduan, Iqbal Singh Bath Bhilowal, Sarpanch Nishan Singh, Sarpanch Lakhwinder Singh Begewal, Member Gurjeet Singh Billa Nag Kalan, former Sarpanch Sardool Pal Kulliyan, Block head Navtej Singh Sohiya, Navdeep Singh Sohna Congress urban head Majitha and others were present.
