Aamir Khan once recalled his first impression of Kareena Kapoor when the actress was just 12 years old and used to visit the sets of his film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ with her elder sister Karisma Kapoor.
During an appearance with Kareena on ‘Koffee With Karan’, Aamir was asked about his first impression of the actress. He remembered seeing her as a young girl accompanying Karisma on the film’s sets.
“My first impression of her was this really cute girl of 12 years old who was sitting on the sets of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. And she used to come with Karisma,” Aamir recalled.
Kareena, in turn, was asked what annoyed her most about Aamir. She pointed to his perfectionist approach to work, saying his insistence on getting things exactly right could sometimes be irritating.
“I think it’s just that thing for perfection. Which is not wrong, but like… it’s just that extra thing. That has to be like this, means it has to be. Till that doesn’t happen, he wants that. So that sometimes can be a bit annoying,” Kareena said.
The two actors later went on to share the screen in several successful films.
Their first major collaboration came with Rajkumar Hirani’s 2009 blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, in which Aamir played Rancho and Kareena portrayed Pia.
They reunited in Reema Kagti’s 2012 psychological mystery thriller ‘Talaash: The Answer Lies Within’, with Aamir playing Inspector Surjan Shekhawat and Kareena essaying the mysterious Rosie. Rani Mukerji also starred in the film.
Aamir and Kareena last appeared together in the 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, the Hindi adaptation of ‘Forrest Gump’. Aamir played the titular character, while Kareena portrayed his love interest, Rupa D’Souza.
