Apple is targeting another record year in India after clocking around $10 billion in sales in FY26, with early demand for its newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max showing stronger momentum than the previous generation, according to industry analysts and retailers.
The company’s push comes amid the broader expansion of electronics manufacturing in India under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Analysts and retailers have reported an initial year-on-year increase of up to 28 per cent for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, said it was too early to provide definitive sales numbers but noted that initial demand for the iPhone 18 Pro was outperforming that of the iPhone 17 Pro on a year-on-year basis.
Resellers are contributing significantly to sales volumes by reaching customers across different locations. Industry observers also pointed to the absence of a standard iPhone 18 model this year, saying it has concentrated demand on the two Pro variants.
Prabhu Ram, Head of the Industry Intelligence Group at CyberMedia Research, said structured retail financing is helping expand the addressable customer base while supporting Apple’s overall revenue value and blended average selling prices in India.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max features a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, alongside new Pro controls in the Camera app. Apple has also highlighted improvements in battery life and sustained performance, supported by its A20 Pro chip and next-generation vapour chamber.
The device also features a smaller Dynamic Island and runs iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI capabilities, which Apple says are designed to combine personal context with privacy and security.
“With iPhone 18 Pro, we’ve made advancements to the areas our users care about most: camera, performance, battery, and intelligence,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
Apple’s FY27 performance will determine whether the company can surpass its previous India sales record as demand for the latest Pro models develops.
