Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has revealed that her pregnancy prevented her from appearing on the popular spicy interview show ‘Hot Ones’.
The 43-year-old actress, who announced her pregnancy in June, recently appeared on the ‘Talk Of The Townsend’ podcast, where she discussed her character Verity Crawford in the psychological thriller ‘Verity’.
Hathaway said her character’s appearances on shows hosted by Alex Cooper and ‘Hot Ones’ presenter Sean Evans were intended to establish Verity as an iconic cultural figure.
“Alex Cooper and Call Her Daddy was scripted,” Hathaway said, adding that she suggested having Verity appear in a Gayle King interview and on ‘Hot Ones’ as a “triple crown trifecta”.
In ‘Verity’, Hathaway plays a writer who is hired to complete Verity Crawford’s unpublished book after Crawford is paralysed in a car crash. The character is interviewed by Cooper and Evans, although Hathaway herself has never taken part in the real-life ‘Hot Ones’ challenge.
“I’ve never done it before. I’ve never done the ten-piece gauntlet,” she said.
Hathaway explained that she wanted her first experience of the challenge to happen when she was not pregnant, saying her doctor had advised her against appearing because of the possibility of going into early labour.
“My doctor said I couldn’t do it because I might go into early labour. So, I still haven’t done the gauntlet yet. I’m not sure when that’s going to happen. Maybe next year,” she said.
Hathaway, who is married to Adam Shulman, is already mother to Jonathan, 10, and Jack, six.
The Oscar-winning actress has also spoken positively about her busy 2026 schedule, which has included appearances in films such as ‘Mother Mary’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and ‘The Odyssey’.
