The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) election has turned into a contest involving several candidates from prominent political families, with the nomination process for the 2026–29 term concluding on Saturday.
Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar, son of Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, and Parakram Singh Rathore, son of former minister Rajendra Rathore, have entered the race for RCA President.
Pawan Dilawar, son of Education Minister Madan Dilawar, has filed his nomination for Vice-President, while Ashish Tiwari, son of Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari, is contesting for Treasurer. Mohit Yadav, son of BJP MLA Jaswant Yadav, has submitted nominations for both Secretary and Vice-President.
Three groups have emerged in the election. The panel associated with Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar is one of the key factions, while another is linked to Parakram Singh Rathore. The third group is led by Brij Kishore Upadhyay.
From the third group, Brij Kishore Sharma has filed for President, Ratan Singh for Vice-President, Pinkesh Porwal for Secretary, Rajesh Saraswat for Joint Secretary, Vishnu Agarwal for Treasurer and Arisht Singhvi for Executive Member.
The Rathore group has fielded Manoj Sharma for Vice-President, Sushil Jain for Treasurer and Joint Secretary, and Dharmveer Singh for Executive Member. Ratan Singh has also filed for Joint Secretary.
After submitting his nomination, Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar said, “We have not received any communication from the government; that is why we have come to file our nominations.” He also said he had no information about the rival panel.
District cricket associations linked to the BJP have indicated that they will follow directions from the government and the organisation.
As per the election schedule, scrutiny of nominations will be held on September 27, followed by withdrawal of nominations on September 28. The final candidate list will also be issued on September 28. Polling and counting are scheduled for September 29 at the RCA Academy in Jaipur.
The election has attracted attention because of the number of candidates with political family connections. The new RCA executive will serve for the 2026–29 term.
