Beneficiaries of Punjab’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) can now download their health cards online from home, with the State Health Agency (SHA), Punjab, introducing a digital facility aimed at making access to the scheme simpler and more convenient.
Under the new facility, eligible beneficiaries who have completed photograph-based verification and e-KYC can access their verified health cards through the official SHA Punjab portal. The card can be downloaded in PDF format and either stored on a mobile phone or printed for future use.
The process involves three steps. Beneficiaries can first locate their family record using their Family ID, Health Card Number, mobile number or Aadhaar number. They then complete OTP-based authentication linked to their registered mobile or Aadhaar details. After successful verification, the health card can be viewed and downloaded.
SHA Punjab has advised beneficiaries to complete the required photograph verification and e-KYC before attempting to generate the card. The digital process also allows them to verify the updated photographs of family members and complete the necessary authentication.
The agency has clarified that merely downloading a card without completing the prescribed verification does not replace the beneficiary authentication process.
The digital card facility is part of efforts to improve access to benefits under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides cashless healthcare coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year.
Once downloaded, beneficiaries can retain the card on their mobile phones, keep a printed copy, share it with family members when required and present it while accessing eligible healthcare services.
The SHA Punjab has advised beneficiaries to use only the official portal for accessing the service and cautioned them against sharing OTPs with anyone.
