Actress Ridhima Pandit has humorously shared her frustration after her third domestic helper allegedly left her home without informing the family, saying the previous three maids had all left because of their relationships.
In a video shared on Instagram, Pandit said she was woken up in the morning with the news that her latest maid had “run away.” She added that this was the third such incident and joked about whether there was some kind of “love affair” inside her house.
“Literally, I am sitting in my nightwear because I was woken up in the morning and told that our maid has run away,” Pandit said, adding that all three had allegedly left because they wanted to be with their boyfriends.
The actress also claimed that the latest domestic helper took some money along with her, referring to it humorously as “some extra stuff” that she was not supposed to take.
Pandit then appealed to Mumbaikars for an explanation, saying she and her family provide their household staff with food, shelter, love and respect.
“What wrong are we doing? What am I doing? I give them lots of food. I give them a good, safe shelter,” she said.
She further recalled that her family has maintained long-standing relationships with household staff. Pandit said her father’s driver from her childhood, when she was around 8 to 12 years old, is still associated with her. She also mentioned a household member she refers to as “Anu Anaconda,” saying she has been with the family since 2017.
Turning the situation into another joke, Pandit shared a conversation with a friend, who asked which direction the women who had left were sleeping in before getting married. Her friend jokingly advised Pandit to sleep in the same direction.
“You never know. I could be the next one running away to get married,” Pandit quipped.
In the caption accompanying the video, Pandit asked her followers whether their domestic helpers also leave unexpectedly and added hashtags including #mumbaidiaries, #maidwoes, #househelp and #mumbaikars.
