Akshay Kumar left the audience in splits on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati as he recalled a hilarious incident involving Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor from the shooting of Tashan.
The anecdote surfaced when host Amitabh Bachchan asked Saif about the beginning of his love story with Kareena, as the two actors reunited on the popular quiz show after 18 years.
Bachchan pointed out that Saif and Kareena’s relationship reportedly began while they were shooting Tashan, and asked Akshay, who was also part of the film, whether he had witnessed their early romance.
Akshay revealed that he used to wake up around 4:30 a.m. during the shoot and that Kareena’s room was next to his. He then recalled one morning when Saif suddenly emerged from her room.
According to Akshay, when he asked Saif what he was doing, the actor replied that they were both going for an early morning jog. Saif immediately joined the joke on the show, repeating that it was an “early morning jog.”
Akshay then quipped that Saif had apparently come to wake Kareena up for the supposed jog, sending the studio audience into laughter.
The light-hearted exchange offered a glimpse into the camaraderie between the three actors during the making of Tashan, Vijay Krishna Acharya’s 2008 action comedy.
The film starred Akshay, Saif and Kareena in the lead roles. Saif and Kareena fell in love during the film’s production and, after dating for several years, married in 2012. The couple now have two sons, Taimur and Jehangir.
The reunion of Akshay and Saif on Kaun Banega Crorepati provided an opportunity to revisit the early days of their friendship and Kareena’s relationship with Saif, with the actors sharing the anecdote in a playful spirit.
