A 21-year-old student and part-time model was allegedly stabbed to death inside her home in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, with police suspecting the involvement of a gym trainer who is currently absconding.
The victim, identified as Muskan, was alone at her second-floor residence when the incident took place on Wednesday. Police said the suspect, identified as Imran, allegedly entered the house, attacked her with a knife and fled. The two were reportedly known to each other for some time.
Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing Muskan’s cries and found her seriously injured. She was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Police said she had suffered multiple stab wounds.
“We are searching for the culprit,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta told reporters, adding that teams were examining CCTV footage from the area to establish the sequence of events and trace the suspect.
Muskan’s friend Aman said one of her elder sisters, who is currently in Chandigarh, contacted him after learning about the attack and asked him to rush to her residence. By the time he reached the spot, an ambulance had already taken Muskan to hospital.
Aman also claimed that Muskan’s sisters had previously expressed concerns about Imran allegedly harassing her. Police are examining these claims as part of the investigation.
Police teams have been formed to trace the suspect and are examining CCTV footage and other evidence. The motive behind the alleged killing is yet to be established, and further investigation is underway.
