Punjab Police conducted 604 raids across the state on Wednesday as part of its ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign against gangsters and their associates, resulting in the arrest of 358 people, officials said.
The statewide operation, which entered its 218th day, targeted identified and mapped locations linked to associates of gangsters. Police teams from districts across Punjab carried out the raids in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF).
The campaign was launched by Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with the stated objective of making the state free from gangster-related activities.
During Wednesday’s operation, police arrested 358 individuals and recovered four weapons. With these arrests, the total number of people arrested since the campaign began has reached 64,930.
Police teams also took preventive action against 215 individuals as part of efforts to curb potential criminal activity.
Eight proclaimed offenders (POs) were also arrested during the day-long operation, according to the police.
The Punjab Police has urged residents to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters and other criminal activities through its Anti-Gangster Helpline.
