Punjab Mini-Bus Operators To Keep Services Running During August 27 Strike: Aman Nagra

Jalandhar, August 26, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Mini-bus services across Punjab will continue to operate on their regular routes during the August 27 strike by government, contractual and other employees and pensioners, said Mini Bus Operators Union senior leader and Jalandhar district president Aman Nagra.

Nagra said mini-bus operators sympathised with the demands of government and private-sector employees, contractual workers and pensioners and urged the Punjab government to consider and accept their genuine demands.

However, he said that depriving other economically weaker sections of their livelihood in the course of protecting one’s own livelihood would not be justified.

“Keeping public convenience in mind, we have decided that mini-buses will continue to operate during the August 27 strike,” Nagra said.

He said mini-buses would run on their respective routes across the state, ensuring that passengers did not face inconvenience and that bus services remained available as usual.

Nagra also appealed to the Punjab government, civil administration and police authorities to ensure the safety and security of mini-bus drivers, conductors and other staff during the strike.

He reiterated that the decision to keep the services running had been taken in the interest of the general public and to ensure uninterrupted transport for passengers across Punjab.
