Over 6.64 Crore Jobseekers Registered on National Career Service Portal Since Launch: Govt

New Delhi, August 5, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

More than 6.64 crore jobseekers have registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal since its launch, with 2.89 crore currently active on the platform, the Ministry of Labour and Employment said on Wednesday.

Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the NCS portal has evolved into a comprehensive digital platform providing employment-related services, including job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, skill development information, and access to government as well as private sector job opportunities.

According to the government, the portal has mobilised over 10.05 crore job vacancies since its inception. As of July 15, 2026, around 17.68 lakh vacancies remained active on the platform.

The ministry said the portal has been upgraded to a cloud-based, open-architecture system and is being continuously enhanced through advanced technologies.

Recent upgrades include artificial intelligence (AI)-powered job matching, skill-gap analysis, personalised job recommendations, an AI interview coach, multilingual support through Bhashini, cloud-based applications for employers and jobseekers, and improved verification mechanisms.

To expand employment opportunities, the ministry has partnered with more than 40 organisations under public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements. These include collaborations with platforms and companies such as APNA, Swiggy, Rapido, Zomato, Amazon, TCS iON, Quikr and FoundIt (formerly Monster).

The NCS portal has also been integrated with several government digital platforms, including Udyam, eShram, Skill India Digital Hub, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), DigiLocker and other government databases.

In addition, it is linked with major recruitment agencies, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB).

As part of efforts to strengthen employment services at the grassroots level, the government has approved 407 Model Career Centres (MCCs), including 370 employment exchanges that have been upgraded to provide career counselling, organise job fairs and facilitate employer outreach.

The ministry further informed that 31 States and Union Territories have been integrated with the NCS portal, with eight of them directly using the platform for employment services.
