Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has achieved a career-best sixth position in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings following her influential performances in the team’s series victory over Pakistan.
Athapaththu scored 39 runs in the opening T20I and followed it with a match-winning 40 in the second game that sealed the series for Sri Lanka. Her consistent performances helped her rise one place to sixth in the rankings while also earning her the highest rating points of her career.
Australia opener Beth Mooney continues to hold the top position in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings after her outstanding performances in the recently concluded ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka’s Imesha Dulani emerged as another major beneficiary in the rankings after producing a memorable unbeaten 101 in the first T20I against Pakistan. The century, her first in T20 internationals, propelled her 33 places upward to a career-best 23rd position.
Despite losing the series, Pakistan players also made significant gains. Muneeba Ali moved up four places to 30th, while Shawaal Zulfiqar climbed dramatically from outside the top 100 to 52nd after scoring 63 and 48 in the first two matches.
The latest rankings also reflected changes in the Women’s ODI category following the completion of the three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which Sri Lanka won 2-1.
Harshitha Samarawickrama, who was named Player of the Series after scoring 173 runs across the three ODIs, moved four places to 13th in the ODI batting rankings. Her unbeaten 73 in the series decider played a key role in Sri Lanka’s eight-wicket victory.
Sri Lanka’s Hasini Perera climbed two places to 35th, while Pakistan’s Gull Feroza moved nine places to 45th and captain Fatima Sana advanced six spots to 56th.
In the ODI bowling rankings, Pakistan left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu moved into the top 10 after taking four wickets in the series. She climbed three places to reach the 10th position.
Sri Lanka captain Athapaththu also improved in the ODI bowling rankings, moving up one place to 31st, while all-rounder Kavisha Dilhari gained three spots to reach 33rd.
