CJP Calls Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation ‘Victory for Democracy’, Vows to Continue Protest

New Delhi, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has been spearheading nationwide student protests over alleged examination irregularities, on Saturday described Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation as a “victory for democracy” but said its agitation would continue until its remaining demands are met.

In a post on X, the organisation declared “Democracy Wins!” while sharing a video of supporters celebrating the minister’s resignation.

Addressing protesters and the media, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke hailed the resignation as proof that sustained public protests can hold those in power accountable. He said the movement had achieved one of its principal objectives and urged citizens to continue raising their voices in a democratic manner.

Dipke also displayed a banner carrying photographs of students who allegedly died by suicide following the May 3 NEET-UG paper leak, dedicating the development to their memory.

While welcoming Pradhan’s resignation, Dipke said the organisation’s agitation was not over. He demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide in the aftermath of the controversy and called for action against police personnel accused of using force against protesters during the July 20 Parliament march.

He further demanded the withdrawal of all cases registered against students before and after the July 20 protest, asserting that democratic movements should not face criminal action.

Dharmendra Pradhan resigned earlier in the day, stating that his decision was aimed at protecting the integrity of the examination system and safeguarding the future of students amid the controversy over alleged exam irregularities.
